April Critique Hour

Members Only: Chris North has invited us to meet at her and Tom North’s home for this month’s CRITIQUE HOUR. Our critique discussion will be facilitated by Janet-Lynn Zuk and Chris North.

Monthly Meeting

SOMETHING NEW! We will be set up at 6:00 pm for those of you who would like come early and socialize before the meeting. This would be a wonderful way to meet members and visit with friends.
NAME TAGS
Just think how helpful this is when meeting people for the first time, or not knowing the name of someone you have seen at every meeting. We will have the adhesive NAME TAGS for you to use, OR LET’S BE CREATIVE. You might want to design your own NAME TAG and wear that to the meeting. After all we are artists, and what fun that could be. In fact, we will have a “Name TAG” storage box, kept in the Guild office to bring out for each meeting so your Name Badge will always be at the meetings. To help you get started, at the April Meeting we will have some supplies for you to take home to create your own designed name badge. We will have some lanyards with holders, badges with pins, cover stock to fit holders.
The Guild meets each month at Art Emergency for its general meeting. Get them on your calendar!
Meetings usually run from 6PM - 8PM:
April 21 | May 19 | June 16 | July: No Meeting | August 18 | September 29 – NEW DATE because of Art Shows | October 20 | November 17 | December: No Meeting
Calls for Guild Artists
With no gallery of our own and very few galleries in Lawrence, we’ve located a few places where Guild member artists can exhibit their work. Some may take a 10-20% commission. There may be other places that become available for shows, and we will let you know as our list updates. The Guild helps both the venue and our artists by scheduling the artists for the year. The vendors are assured they will have a new show, and something they can tell their customers about. The artists make their own sales transactions and provide contact information on the title labels to facilitate that.
Please help! We need to fill in these schedules with shows of your wonderful artwork! Text me or email office@LawrenceArtGuild.org to let me know which venue (s) you are interested in. Remember that during a calendar year, you can show at each of the venues.

Art Drop Off: Monday, April 7 from 12 noon to 3:30 pm

Artwork Pickup: Monday, June 23
The Bank printed some flyers and postcards to promote the All Members Show. Maria will have them with her on Monday April 7 during the Artwork Drop Off time at Landmark National Bank.
Art Spaces
This open studio, self-guided tour of artist’s studios and art spaces will happen Saturday, May 3 from 10 - 6PM, and Sunday, May 4 from Noon - 6PM.
We will be needing volunteers to help distribute flyers, hang large vinyl banners, and the always available busy work. If you can help, send a note to Jen or Roura at office@lawrenceartguild.org Thank you.
