July/August 2023 News

Hello Lawrence Art Guild Members:

Happy Summer! I hope you have been feeling inspired and creating lots of beautiful art to share with us at some upcoming event. Remember to send me information on your exhibits so we can spread the news among fellow members. And as important as the announcement of upcoming exhibits is, it is equally important to remember we are here to support each other. It is always a good feeling to see fellow members in attendance at special events!

A Special Call for Member Volunteers

Added to Art in the Park 2023 will be a Lawrence Art Guild Tent that will focus on and present in photo and text an exhibit of events the Guild is involved in. We will have information and flyers on Membership, on ways to support the Guild, a calendar of upcoming 2023 events, and a listing show and events to look forward to in 2024. What better way to take an already full house, or South Park in this case, and do some serious promoting and introducing the community/general public to the Lawrence Art Guild, who we are and what we do!

Who better to talk about and help showcase the Guild than our members! We are looking for members to sign up for a two-person shift at the Lawrence Art Guild Tent. It could be a fun activity for you and a friend, or an opportunity to meet someone new! And all you have to do is sign up for a ONE HOUR shift (starting on each hour). If you want to do a two-hour shift, or a shift each day, then that would be fantastic! Don’t feel you do not know enough about what the Guild does. There will be so much information at the booth that you can breeze through it, and we plan on having a board member there with you.

And the best part is, you can enjoy the music while you work, and before or after your shift you can visit with the artists at their booths and shop. It is a recipe for a fun weekend!

Heather Duris will be sending out Google Volunteer Forms for the Lawrence Art Guild Tent. Be the first to fill this out and get your special time reserved! There will be other volunteer opportunities as well.

And my apology for the tardy newsletter (this is technically the July Newsletter). Eight days without internet at home was like, ....You can imagine!

Thank you everyone - Maria
