The Guild’s newsletters serve as an up-to-date extension of our website (lawrenceartguild.org). Newsletters will announce monthly programs, sponsored events, and information about members shows and opportunities for members to show their work. The President’s Letter in the newsletter will keep members informed of upcoming organizational plans.

Or, we just need someone to look at it and give some feedback. Here is an opportunity to bring in an art piece or two that you are working on and visit with peers. Get some feedback.
Depending on the response we receive, these sessions could happen on the first Saturday of each month or every other month. The Peer-to-Peer Session will be announced at the Monthly Meeting, in the Newsletter, and on the Website in the Members Only section. Janet Lynn Zuk will lead the group and looks forward to starting these informal sessions in March.

Website
One of our projects for 2024 is the revamping/fine tuning of the Guild’s website. As we went through this first year we kept in touch with the designer, keeping notes on improvements, and the fine details we felt were necessary. Some changes are being done right now. We will get into details as we make progress. We have the services of the website designer, Diana Stuart of Indigo Designworks.
One of the items we can move forward on is adding to the Members Gallery for those of you who are not on this site. The Member Gallery list is designed to showcase members and link your personal or professional website with Guild’s website. Information will be coming out soon with instructions on what you will need submit.

CALL FOR ARTISTS
The Guild’s partnership with the groups here is very important and has been going on for quite a few year. With no gallery of our own, we try to find venues where Guild member artists can show their work. There is no commission involved with any of the groups here. And we help both the venue and our artists with scheduling time to showcase their work. Let me know where you would like to have your show. You can sign up for one or more venues. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Maria (text, email, phone 785-760-0401).
Lawrence Chamber of Commerce
Located at: 718 New Hampshire Street Guild member artists to show art works at the Chamber of Commerce Office Suite. Each solo artist or a group of 2 to 3 artists display their artwork for a period of 3 months. This is a good venue for a group show. During that time, you can change out art pieces to keep a fresh look. Artists leave their contact information for sales. You handle all sales. Switching pieces out at any time is okay. The Chamber takes no commission.
The Chamber shows run quarterly, February through March, April through June, July through September, and October through December/mid-January. If you are interested in participating, please send me your name and contact information (email and telephone number). If anyone is interested in February through March, please contact me ASAP. I have work on display for January into February, and can really use one or 2 other artists to show with me.
Black Stag Brewery
Located at 623 Massachusetts Street has been showing work by Guild member artists since they opened in 2018. New shows open on Final Fridays. They do not have an Opening Reception, but do offer customers a Monday-Friday Happy Hour with cash bar and Happy Hour reduced prices eats and beverages from 3-6 PM. Artist are welcome to greet Final Friday visitors, and if you want to bring in treats, they welcome artists to bring sweets only (cookies, candies). I am looking for artists so the Guild can fill a yearly calendar of exhibits. Artists leave their contact information for sales. You handle all sales. Black Stag Brewery takes no commission. We are looking for artists to begin with the February 23 Final Friday opening. Two artists can show together if you would like that and/or have limited inventory to show.
Douglas County Judicial and Law Enforcement Center
Located at 111 E. 11th Street, across from the Court House. Please get in touch with me if you are interested in being with a group of fellow member artists showing artwork throughout the Center during a two-month period. This year the Guild’s Members Show takes place March 1 and April 30, 2024. There are 10 exhibit areas/rooms. We can get a walk-through tour in February. I understand that we could display 80-100 art pieces depending on sizes of the pieces. If interested, just text or email me (785-760-0401; mariasmartin0501@gmail.com) Thank you.
Crescent Moon Winery Tasting Room
Located at 732 Massachusetts Street. Please let me know if you are interested in a month exhibit at Crescent Moon Winery Tasting Room. Shows open on Final Fridays and run through the Sunday before the next Final Friday (example: January 26 through February 18.) They are regular participants in Final Friday, and have live music for most events. They participate in Final Fridays from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Please drop in and check out the exhibit area.
We have a group show opening January 26, so start with February FF. Just send me an email, text or phone call and let me know what month you would like to exhibit. Two artists can show together if you would like that and/or have limited inventory to show.
