Liza MacKinnon’s exhibit includes eleven garments created from banned books. Enjoy the collection and look closely to find significant details such as Piggy’s glasses or the handmaidens’s noose.
Each piece was crafted from paper and fiber in the spring of 2026. This subject was chosen as a natural reaction to current events in our country and around the world. Depicting the characters and complicated topics from these books as children, grounds the viewer in our shared humanity. Even when we feel small, we each make up a part of the whole and are therefore integral, powerful, and important to our community.
You can view this exhibit during Library hours: M-Th 10-8, F-Sun 10-6.
