Q: What are the hours?
A: Saturday, September 13th, 10 am to 6 pm
Sunday, September 14th, 10 am to 5 pm

Q: What is the weather policy?
A. Art in the Park is a rain or shine event. If the weather is dangerous we will postpone until the weather clears.

Q: Are dogs allowed?
A: Yes, well-behaved dogs are allowed. Please be mindful that this can be crowded and might be a stressful environment for dogs.

Q. Is the music live?
A. Yes, We have live music all day, both Saturday and Sunday!

Q: Are there restrooms?
A: There are portable toilets located on the east and west side of South Park.

Q: Will children enjoy the event?
A: Definitely! We have activities for children such as face-painting and bubbles on the north side of the park. The art is family-friendly and fun for all ages. Art in the Park is also a time for children to explore a variety of artistic styles and mediums.

Q: What is the cost?
A: Art in the Park is a free event open to the public!

Q: Is there food available?
A: Yes! We have food and beverage vendors located in the park and on Massachusetts street.

Q. How are the artists chosen?
A. Art in the Park is a highly competitive juried art fair. Over 300 artists applied for 130 spots. Local, regional, and national artists are all chosen, with over 50 of the artists from coming Lawrence. We also have artists coming from Kansas City, Wichita, Topeka, Missouri, Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, New Mexico and many other locations.

Q.How do I apply?
A. Artists apply on Zapplication starting in January. Applications closed on May 31st. Look for applications opening next winter: https://www.zapplication.org/

Q. What does the Lawrence Art Guild do with the profit?
A. Each artist is its own small business. They keep their earnings except for the booth fee. The earnings from the booth fee are used for running the Lawrence Art Guild, providing artist programs and workshops throughout the year, and to donate to the Douglas County High School Giving Program. Since the Giving Program began, the Lawrence Art Guild has donated over $30,000 to all Douglas County Public High Schools’ art programs.
