About the Lawrence Art Guild’s Holiday Art Fair
The Holiday Art Fair is an annual juried exhibition of fine art and fine craft during the holiday season. This one-day event offers area artists a seasonal exhibition and sales opportunity within the space of the Cider Gallery in Lawrence’s Warehouse Arts District. This year’s event takes place on Saturday, December 1st from 10:00 am to 6:00pm. Live music is scheduled throughout the day. The Guild retains a commission of 10% on sales which enables us to fulfill our mission statement and support area artists and artists grants.
Eligibility The Fair is open to any artist 18 years of age or older. All media are eligible. Only your original art and reproductions of your original art are eligible for display and sale. Original works must make up the majority of the work displayed. Items made from non-original or commercial patterns, molds, or kits are not eligible. The Lawrence Art Guild reserves the right to refuse any entry application. The Guild also reserves the right to remove any items that may appear in your display that were not represented in entry photos, or that are otherwise deemed ineligible or unsuitable for display.
Entry Requirements All artists must submit three (4) good-quality images showing at least one work for each medium of art to be displayed, plus a drawing or photo of their booth set-up. Images may be submitted electronically with online application, or printed photographs with mailed application. Photographs must be of original art. Label images with your name, medium, and estimated dimensions.
Screening and Selection Acceptance is based on artwork that exhibits originality, craftsmanship, imaginative use of materials, and aesthetic qualities. A screening committee will judge the overall suitability of artwork based on images submitted. The screening committee’s decisions are final. High quality or professional photos will give you the best chance for consideration. Holiday Art Fair postcards will be e-mailed to each artist for their use. There will be Guild volunteers available during the Fair for assistance.

If you are not accepted, the entry fee is returned less a $5 non-refundable Screening Fee, along with the Screening Notice and your photos. Fee may be paid by check, money order, or cash. Make checks or money orders out to: Lawrence Art Guild.
Display Remember, display space is limited. You will be assigned a display space averaging 6 feet wide. Every effort will be made to meet your requirements. Plan to supply your own display fixtures. A limited number of spaces have electric outlets. Tables are not available. Artists may not hang anything on Cider Gallery walls. Artists must provide panels for hanging objects.
Setup Current space setup is Saturday morning from 7:00am – 9:00am.
Check-Out at End of Fair Artists must checkout at the end of the Fair, whether or not they have sold any work. A 10% commission on sales will be collected and artists will receive receipt for tax purposes. Have your sales total ready. Please help to clean up your area during take-down. (NO EARLY TAKE-DOWN PLEASE)
Liability/Agreement The Lawrence Art Guild and the Cider Gallery accept no responsibility for loss or damage to any artist’s work exhibited at the Holiday Art Fair or photographs submitted for jurying. Submission of an entry constitutes permission to have one’s images used, or art photographed, for publicity purposes and constitutes agreement with all conditions set forth in this prospectus. Artists are encouraged to provide their own insurance for their artwork.
