2023 Festival of Trees Entry

The Lawrence Art Guild members created a themed Christmas tree in November 2023 and donated it for auction as a part of the Lawrence Festival of Trees. The funds raised help to support the O’Connell Children’s Shelter, as they work to enhance their residential, prevention, and foster care programs.

The theme we selected this year was “Rainbow Connection”.

A rainbow is often a sign of hope, the beauty after the storm, a pot of gold and good fortune at the rainbow's end. For many, a rainbow carries a personal symbolic meaning–representing inclusivity and diversity, an all-embracing image of love and friendship. The Guild artists have decorated a 6-foot tree with an upward spiral of bright, colorful textured spherical ornaments using a variety of materials and hundreds of tiny lights.  This is brought together by a 40-inch circular fabric rainbow tree skirt.

We enjoy participating in this event each year as part of our Art Guild outreach.
