High School Arts Program

Assisting Art Education in Public Schools

The Lawrence Art Guild Association mission includes the following articles of incorporation as a not-for-profit organization in the State of Kansas.

The Lawrence Art Guild Association was established in 1963 by a small group of artists and received the designation of a non-profit arts organization in Lawrence, Kansas. Over the years the Guild has supported multiple art exhibits, a yearly Holiday Art Fair and Art in the Park (voted best event in Lawrence). The Guild has also assisted artists through grant programs and monetary donations for artists who have lost art supplies through misfortune.

Our largest contribution is to the Douglas County high school art students. Beginning in 2017, the Art Guild has donated $9,000 each year to be divided among each high school art teacher. This program has enabled art teachers in our county to purchase art supplies, assist students with college preparations and purchase larger equipment not included in the school budgets.

Program Update for 2020

THIS YEAR IS DIFFERENT for everyone. The Lawrence Art Guild had to cancel both Holiday Art Fair and Art in the Park. These two events alone fund our High School Gifting Program and the day to day operations have depleted the Guild budget.

We understand everyone is feeling the stress of our current health and economic situation (jobs, income, etc.), but we are asking that you open your hearts to assist in raising money for the Douglas County School Gifting Program. Please consider a donation and know that any amount will assist us in our mission, and all designated donations will be used for the student program.

We thank you in advance for your consideration. You can find the donation page here:
